And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.(Ephesians 2:6-7)
This world in which we currently live is headed for disaster. I don’t speak that word as a negative prophecy, but rather as an understanding of eschatology and the eventuality of all things. The world mourns the holocaust (and rightfully so) where millions of Jews were murdered, but doesn’t blink an eye at the murder of fifty million babies. We embrace sexual immorality and label it diversity. We glorify the logic of man as being “enlightened” and cast down the truth of the Lord to the streets where it is trampled underfoot. Some say we need a change.
I say change isn’t enough. We need an impartation of something from another world.
The scripture above says that we have been seated in heavenly places with the Lord. I believe that it’s an invitation to dwell in another Kingdom. I believe that you can come into a place in Jesus where your spirit transcends the celestial heavens and the second heaven (the realm of angelic and demonic activity) and abides in the third heaven with Christ.
I further believe that, once you have taken your place at the side of Christ in the third heaven, you can effectively become a conduit by which the reality of that realm becomes manifest on the Earth. You see, your spirit may be seated in the third heaven with Christ, but your body remains on the Earth. The connection between your body and your spirit enables the transfer from one realm to the next. It’s as if your soul forms a pipe line by which the glory of God travels from His realm and begins to overflow from our lives to permeate the realm in which we live.
The key to the whole endeavor is to be “in Christ Jesus.” It’s not enough to know about Him. We have to arrive at a place where we literally put on the nature of Christ and operate from within Him. I want to know Jesus in this way. I want to know Him as the God who surrounds me and clothes me with His nature. I want to be seated in the third heaven IN Him so that I can live LIKE Him and change the reality around me.
