Should Doctors Be Allowed To Force Abortions?

Posted by Jonathan Greene On February - 5 - 2009

I was reading a post over on the Esther Project’s blog and saw that they had discussed the recent birth of Octuplets in Southern California.  The debate for forced abortion centers around the idea that more than two or three children in the womb at the same time means an increased chance of death or harm to the mother and the babies, so doctors should have the right to override the mother’s wishes and perform “fetal reduction,” which is yet another fancy word for abortion.

Here’s the quote from the original article :

The situation raises the issue of whether a doctor ought to override a patient’s wishes for the sake of saving lives, she said. Although the health care system in America gives patients autonomy in making decisions about their own bodies, when emotionally distraught, some people decide poorly,”  she said. (sorry, can’t find the original link now)

Each and every time I think we have reached the bottom of our ability to be evil as a nation, I’m surprised by a new low.  It’s bad enough that people choose to kill their own babies in the womb, let alone allow somebody else to force that decision upon a person who wants to let their children live.

In case you didn’t know where I stand on abortion, I’ll go ahead and recap.  We need to repent with weeping and solemn assemblies before the Lord in the hope that we can receive mercy for our national and state policies on abortion.  Abortion is an abomination before the Lord.  It smacks of Baal worship (which frequently required the sacrifice of babies), and it’s a strategy by which the enemy hopes to wipe out the last generation of Nazarite warriors.

The church can NOT afford to be apathetic on the topic of abortion.  Social racial reconciliation is not a good enough reason for the church to support a pro-choice candidate.  Let’s awaken the sleeping giant and go after this thing with prayer and fasting!

The Battle For The Unborn

This video is extremely graphic, and heart wrenching.  It’s a call to arms for all those who have been apathetically sitting on the fences in the battle for the unborn.  It’s time to do something.  Get involved!

This video is distributed by Abort73, an online coaliton against abortion.

Radical Christianity: Tolerance is Overrated

Posted by Jonathan Greene On January - 28 - 2009

This is a post about the status quo, and the mess that we (the church) have gotten ourselves into by buying into it.  For the last twenty years or so, the church has been slipping into a me-centric mentality of  “what can the Kingdom do for me.”  It’s the “entertain me” religion of the bigger, better show.  Meanwhile, truth has been slain in the streets.

Don’t get me wrong.  I love the church with a blazing passion.  It’s my life’s calling to see it restored to the glorious nature of the bride of Christ. But when church members are voting for pro-choice candidates simply because they “want change,” we’ve obviously missed the boat.

Abortion is an abomination before the Lord.  The shedding of the blood of innocent babies smacks of the ancient religion of Baal worship, and many of us have been complicit in it’s prosecution, at least passively.

“That’s not very politically correct, and certainly not very tolerant.”

Nope.  It’s not.  Tolerance is overrated.  We have far too many Pastors who won’t preach on the topic of abortion for fear of marginalizing somebody who probably needs to be marginalized.  It’s as simple as that.  Don’t shoot the messenger.

“What are you doing about it then?”

That’s a fair question.  I’m praying and fasting.  I’m calling out upon the Lord to release His justice on the Earth.  I’m looking for like minded people to build a coalition for justice.  I’m just a man, but I’m focused on the cause of Christ.

The more interesting question, at least to me, is “What are you doing?”  If you’re not doing anything, start now.  There’s always room for one more intolerant Jesus Freak.
